Being MVP Of Your Life Today

Being the MVP of the Super Bowl is quite an honor. Recognition. Trophy. Maybe even a cash bonus. Von Miller’s four hours of effort in the 2016 Super Bowl earned him that title.

Which got me thinking… what might it look like if I were MVP of my life today?

Where would I aim my best efforts? What would drop off my To Do List? How much time would I invest in the people around me? Would I even go online (except to post this!)?

And then these words surfaced in my mind:

Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. (Philippians 2:12-13, NLT)

There may be many things I will encounter today which are beyond my control, but the most valuable things of my day are clearly within my ability to engage in. Regardless of the outcome of my efforts I will give my best to what matters most. That way, when my day is complete, I can celebrate that I was MVP of my life today!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
