TaBata Exercise

Dr. Izumi Tabata discovered the aerobic and anaerobic benefits of high intensity interval training.  Just 4 minutes of Tabata has metabolic advantages for up to 18 hours.  The participants of his study repeated seven to eight sets of exertion-rest intervals which equal only about 4 minutes of workout time.

Resistance Band Exercise strengthens the primary muscle as well as engaging core muscles to give the most effective full body workout. It is easier on the joints than weights. Bands come in different sizes and resistance strengths which allow for  challenging workouts regardless of your current fitness level. The natural movement of exercising with bands build up body strength and balance to keep the body agile and helps prevent injuries.

Body Weight Exercises take advantage of the ENTIRE BODY to exercise specific muscle groups. Because the exercises use the body in functional or natural movements, endurance, strength, and balance quickly improve which helps prevent workout injuries and sore joints.

Stretching has enormous results on healthy muscles.  Effective stretching exercises will help eliminate pain caused from weak and poorly functioning muscles.  Lower back pain, hip tightness, and poor posture can all be greatly alleviated with a healthy, safe stretching regime. Dave Scott is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer.  His laughter and optimistic view of the world help create rigorous, engaging, and constantly-changing workout sessions for both the NOVICE and the DISCIPLINED athlete.  

Dave is certified in corrective exercise which is especially beneficial to his clients with body aches and pains from both overuse and underdevelopment of muscle groups. Dave also has a certification as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist from NASM which complements all the hard work you do in your workouts.

Although Dave has always been an avid exerciser, his own personal story of losing 40 pounds in his 40's inspired a desire to coach others to better health.  To motivate a group of his friends turning 45, he suggested the guys train for a purpose; to climb Mount Whitney in a single day.  The goal brought new determination to the group and helped spur Dave's desire to bring as many along as willing to a live a life full of adventure and the ability to physically achieve it.  The group made the hike to Whitney's summit and back in 18 hours in 2008.

After working in a well known fitness club for two years as a personal trainer, Dave launched Fit2Serve (F2S) to make fitness training more financially accessible as well as to encourage health and service within our local community.  Dave loves kayaking, hiking, and mountain biking. For over 30 years, Dave has been inspiring others to live out their God-given dreams and desires to make the world a better place for everyone.  He has been married for 30 years and has 3 children.
